We are committed to measurable objectives evident in our Food Safety System, this includes customer satisfaction, fewer recalls or number of withdrawals and decrease the occurrences of  foreign bodies. Our policy will be communicated to all staff, implemented and maintained to all levels of the organization.

Our products comply with relevant Statutory and regulatory requirements including: SANS 10049:2012, Food Stuffs, cosmetic and disinfectant Act, R918, ISO 22000:2005 HACCP system, ISO 22002-1 PRP system, the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85:1993 and GFSI version6 

A Bit Of Background About Us

Black Mountain Foods was started in May 1991. Our first delivery was to a retail store in Fontainebleau, Randburg. The order comprised of 10 packets Chicken Wors. Since then a lot has changed.

Today we manufacture over 100 products ranging from deboned and stuffed chicken products, to lamb, beef and ostrich supplied to leading retail supermarkets, hotels and caterers across South Africa.

Every portion is hand selected for quality. We only use the best quality ingredients in our products. All our flavours are individually designed and the recipes unique to our products.

We value our reputation as the best supplier of value added meat & poultry products. As a leader in new product development our clients rely on us to constantly improve and expand our and their range of products.

The levels of hygiene in our plant is of the highest as the audits show. We are very proud of our high standards and believe 100% is the only result to aim for.


Black Mountain Foods also supplies a wide range of ambient food products including our own BM Foods range of Mayonnaises, Spices and Sauces, Creative Cuisine Pantry's range of condiments and Wilsons Foods' range of oil's which consistently deliver quality and value for money.

Our range of over 200 items are distributed from our main Food Safety accredited facility located in Krugersdorp. Our fleet of vehicles and trucks ensures prompt and efficient service delivery.

Black Mountain Foods employs over 100 professional permanent staff, who fully understand the need of our clients.

Food Safety Management System Planning

Management shall ensure planning of FSMS is carried out to meet ISO 22000:2005 requirements as well as the objectives of the company that support food safety. 

Management Commitment:


Management have committed to implementing a Food Safety Management System (FSMS). We aim for continued improvement in product processes and production. All necessary resources will be made available to ensure correct functioning of the FSMS.

Management shall ensure that responsibilities are defined and communicated within the organization to ensure the effective operation and maintenance of the FSMS.

All personnel shall have the responsibility of reporting problems with the FSMS to management. Designated persons shall have defined responsibility and authority to initiate and record actions.

Receiving of raw materials into establishment. Portioning and further processing of all products to company specifications. End products in accordance with customer and company specifications delivered to retail distribution centres and other outlets.

The company aims to implement systems that consistently produces safe foods. Effective communication will be demonstrated in regards to food safety issues to all suppliers and customers.
